A Legacy of Partnership and Purpose
In partnership with Stronghold Construction, and in service to the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma and Indian Health Services (IHS), the Pawnee IHS Drive-Through Clinic stands as an innovative example of modern healthcare design in Oklahoma.
Delivered through a Design+Build model, the project demonstrates how integrated teams can achieve greater efficiency, flexibility, and long-term community value.
A new 3,000 sq ft ground-up facility, designed to provide modern, functional healthcare for the Pawnee Nation community. Featuring a two-lane drive-through bay for vaccinations and infection control, the clinic reflects a commitment to responsive, resilient medical care.

The Pawnee Nation IHS Clinic was designed to support efficient workflows, streamlined patient movement, and flexible clinical operations. In addition to the primary care functions, the facility incorporates dedicated office and engineering suites for a partner entity within the IHS system—allowing two user groups to operate independently while sharing a cohesive architectural identity.
Durable, low-maintenance materials were selected to optimize long-term performance, and the layout was carefully organized to manage multiple access points, staff circulation zones, and secure service areas. A key design challenge involved accommodating two distinct occupancies with different functional needs, which was resolved through clear spatial zoning and thoughtful adjacencies.
The resulting facility enhances day-to-day healthcare delivery, improves operational resilience, and strengthens long-term community wellbeing—an example of design-led healthcare innovation in Oklahoma.
