Our OKC Architecture Studio
We’re more than architects — we’re partners in creating spaces that reflect your values, support your lifestyle, and stand the test of time. From residential homes to commercial projects, we design with intention, clarity, and purpose.
Design at Every Scale
From redesigning an 8,500 square foot Youth Facility to a 300 square foot yellow kitchen, we create spaces for families, small businesses, and locally minded organizations in and around Oklahoma. No matter the size, we prioritize your values.
Our Origin Story
WHAT STARTED IT ALL
Green Couch Design began on a Saturday morning over cups of British Breakfast Tea — with owners Megan and Cale sprawled across a green couch, sketching dreams for their future. They wanted to raise a family and build a business without compromising their values: time together, quality of work, and intentional living.
That green couch became the launching pad for what is now a growing Oklahoma City architecture studio. It’s where resilience met creativity, where vision turned into reality, and where the values that still guide every project today first took root.

Meet the Team
Megan Lopp

For several years, Megan worked at a boutique branding studio in Oklahoma City before launching Green Couch Design with Cale in 2010. Her graphic design and marketing work has won multiple Addy's and has been featured in HOW Design Magazine. For over a decade, she has had the privilege of working with local Oklahoma City brands like Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc., Boathouse District and Riversport OKC, TAP Architecture, Studio Architecture, Timberlake Construction, The Historic Pollard Theatre (Guthrie, OK), The Oklahoma Sustainability Network, as well as local salons, studios, and creative entrepreneurs. By digging into our client's vision and goals, Megan enables Green Couch Design to provide design plans and visuals with purpose and long-term growth.
In her free time, she enjoys dark coffee, thrifting and antiquing, and watching cheesy game shows with her family. Thus far, Meg's proudest life moments include running a marathon and birthing all three of her babies at home.

Not to quote The Lego Movie, but really… a true "Master Builder" Cale has worked in the Architectural, Construction, and Development Industry for over 15 years. After managing projects, in the millions of dollars, on a daily basis he is not afraid of budgets or subcontractors :). As a licensed architect, he has worked on projects like: The Jones Library, Oklahoma State University's Wentz Lane Parking Garage, and Toby Keith's. As a construction manager, he has worked on projects for Mustang Public Schools, St. Gregory's, and the UCO softball facilities. A natural problem solver, he knows how to meet client needs head-on and produce design solutions that are practical, budget-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing.
In his free time, he enjoys being a Cub Scout Den Leader and participating in a year’s long campaign of Dungeons and Dragons (DND). Thus far, Cale's proudest life moments include designing and building his own home AND hosting an adult Lego themed party in celebration of receiving his architectural license (and yes… "everything WAS awesome" at the party).

The Dream Sparked
What began as a joke quickly became something more. On the night Megan and Cale first met, they joked about running a design firm together. At the time, Cale was studying architecture and Megan was in graphic design. Within a year, that playful idea turned into late-night, heart-led conversations — one of them happening on a well-worn green couch, with an engagement ring on Megan’s finger.
A Business Is Born
Launched with no savings and a bag of found concrete, Green Couch first came to life during the wake of the 2008 recession. The pair designed concrete jewelry and custom kitchen prints on aprons, tea towels, and mixer covers — selling their creations at markets, craft shows, Etsy, and local shops like Shop Good and Stash across Oklahoma, Dallas, and Kansas. After two years of long hours and tight margins, they knew it was time to pivot.
Life + Foundations
Cale returned to a 9–5 job just as their first (surprise!) baby boy arrived in 2012. Over the next several years, their family grew to three boys while they restored a 1910 farmhouse, paid off school debt, and dipped into their first major architectural projects — including the Catalyst Youth Facility and a local church lobby and coffee shop.
The Re-Launch
Pandemic shutdowns offered time to revisit the Green Couch dream. With a new perspective, Megan and Cale launched Design Date Nights, a video series where they shared stories of living intentionally in their 1,000 sq. ft. farmhouse. Those conversations reshaped their design philosophy and opened doors to bigger projects like The Oculist in downtown OKC and their Wheeler District home design.
The Dream Realized
For two years, Cale worked 9–5 by day and designed for Green Couch by night, while Megan managed the business and their three boys with the help of one very dedicated Gigi. It was a grind, but it paid off. In 2022, the Lopps not only moved into their dream home, they stepped fully into their dream business — Green Couch Design, full time.
