As a husband and wife team we, Cale and Meg, design spaces for homes and small businesses from our 1910 farmhouse in Oklahoma. With our architectural and creative design backgrounds, we offer fresh innovative perspectives to heart-led companies, non-profits, and families. From redesigning an 8,500 square foot Youth Facility to a father-daughter hair salon, Green Couch Design takes on projects of all shapes and sizes. Through a clear and strategic design process our clients have become our biggest fans and some of our dearest friends.
She’s the whimsical designer, he’s the old soul architect.
For several years, Megan worked at a boutique branding studio in Oklahoma City before launching Green Couch Design with Cale in 2010. She brings clarity to our clients wants and needs and helps define their core values. By digging into our client's vision and primary goals, Megan enables Green Couch Design to provide design plans and visuals with purpose and long-term growth. Her graphic design work has won multiple Addy's and has been featured in HOW Design Magazine. For over a decade, she has had the privilege of working with local Oklahoma City brands like Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc., Boathouse District and Riversport OKC, TAP Architecture, Studio Architecture, Timberlake Construction, The Historic Pollard Theatre (Guthrie, OK), The Oklahoma Sustainability Network, as well as local salons, studios, and creative entrepreneurs.
In her free time, she enjoys slow mornings, snuggles with her three firey redheaded boys, laughing till it hurts, coming up with meal options (other than nachos) for dinner, ginger beer, canning fresh garden goodies, and arguing/dreaming up a future homestead with her amazingly patient husband :). Thus far, Meg's proudest life moments include running a marathon and birthing all three of her babies at home.
Not to quote The Lego Movie, but really… a true "Master Builder" Cale has worked in the Architectural, Construction, and Development Industry for over 10 years (and still does full-time). After managing projects, in the millions of dollars, on a daily basis he's not afraid of budgets or subcontractors :). A natural problem solver, he knows how to meet client needs head-on and produce design solutions that are practical, budget-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing. As a licensed architect, he has worked on projects like: The Jones Library, Oklahoma State University's Wentz Lane Parking Garage, and Toby Keith's. As a construction manager, he has worked on projects for Mustang Public Schools, St. Gregory's, and the UCO softball facilities. He brings all his knowledge and hands on experiences to each Green Couch Design project by creating custom design solutions that client's benefit from for years to come.
In his free time, he enjoys saving all of the plants around the house that Megan forgets to water, playing Poke'mon Go around his small-town with his little boys, comic books, and designing his dream home with his toughest client yet; his wife. Thus far, Cale's proudest life moments include smoking salmon on the grill that's so good you'll be willing to donate your left kidney - just so he will cook it again - AND hosting an adult Lego themed party in celebration of receiving his architectural license (and yes… "everything WAS awesome" at the party).
The result of a Kansas girl who married an Okie boy.
Everything began taking shape early one Saturday morning over cups of British Breakfast Tea, while sprawling on a green couch.
We had a dream to raise a family, build a business, and take over the world - without compromising our beliefs, our time, or our quality in any of those areas. The couch became the launching pad of our little Company. The place our dreams came together and where they continue to grow from today - right here in rural Oklahoma.
We see creativity in canning with Grandma and the patchwork pattern of open fields. It’s quality, not quantity. It’s simple. It’s about taking the best parts of our design and architectural careers and providing legacy-driven services for the people we get to call clients.
